====== Funding Priorities ====== Current funding priorities CTP is pursuing with grantmakers (prepared October 2026). **Digital Career Compass:** Computer Technologies Program (CTP) is seeking to expand its Digital Career Compass (DCC), a skills and career assessment program that helps people with disabilities identify their strengths, build digital skills, explore realistic career options, and plan practical steps toward greater independence through employment. **Financial Literacy:** CTP would like to add a financial literacy component to its existing curriculum — or offer it as a stand-alone session or series — for enrolled students and community members. Many people with disabilities in our service have limited financial knowledge, and as they prepare for work or manage their own benefits, greater financial literacy would be directly beneficial. **Work Experience:** Since 2024, CTP has offered adult work experience opportunities to enrolled students and would like to expand them to more of the community. These experiences often surface work-readiness issues that don't appear in training but can hold people back — giving staff the chance to coach through them. **AT Training Support:** People new to assistive technology (AT) need opportunities to use it outside of a formal AT training context — to gain practical experience and uncover issues that a highly supported training setting may not reveal. CTP can serve as a middle ground between AT training and work, addressing the combined gaps in AT fluency and professional skills. **Technology Equipment Donations:** For decades, CTP has been a hub for technology access in the community. We regularly support organizations and businesses doing IT refreshes by accepting donated equipment — refurbishing it for community use or reselling it to support operations. Through a regional partner, we can facilitate large equipment donations across California, including Southern California, the Central Valley, the Sacramento metropolitan area, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the North Bay / Napa–Sonoma region. Funder fit: Ability Central (formerly Disability Communications Fund), a California grantmaker focused on communication access for people with disabilities, runs Community Impact Grants ($500–$5,000) and BOLT Grants (up to $10,000) for assistive technology projects — a strong match for the AT Training Support and equipment donation priorities.
